Santo Domingo.– The National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) with the support of the Specialized Airport Security Corps and under the coordination of the Public Ministry, arrested a Dutch-Dominican, at the JFPG International Airport of the Americas, with 99 bags presumably cocaine or heroin .
The 43-year-old man was arrested by DNCD agents before boarding a flight to Belgium, and after initiating the action protocol for these cases, foreign substances were detected in his body.
Subsequently, and in the presence of a prosecutor, the presence of suspicious images in his stomach was confirmed, for which he was immediately transferred to the Central Hospital of the Armed Forces, where after several days he expelled 99 bags of the substance, with a preliminary weight of 1.2 kilograms.
The detainee is in the power of the Public Ministry to know coercive measures in the next few hours, while the DNCD agencies deepen the investigations into the case.
“The DNCD, with the support of CESAC and members of intelligence agencies stationed in airport terminals, have redoubled surveillance and interdiction operations against illicit drug trafficking and other crimes,” the press release states.
The 99 bags were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
