They arrest 9 people allegedly linked to the ‘West Side 4 Life’ gang in Colón

Through “Operation Kaizen”, the Public Ministry in conjunction with units of the National Police, carried out raids this Thursday morning in Arcoiris, Altos de Los Lagos and Barrio Sur, province of Colón.

According to reports from the entity, 9 arrests were made. These people are allegedly linked to crimes of illegal possession of weapons and homicide, and are part of the “West Side 4 Life” gang.

They detailed that so far 19 raids have been carried out to combat criminal acts in the province of Colón.

The persons apprehended will be placed under the orders of a Judge of guarantees.

It should be noted that the National Police is carrying out “Operation Genesis” in parallel, with which on January 26, through 43 raids, they managed to seize 10 firearms, ammunition, money and 20 packages with alleged drugs. In addition, two vehicles were recovered.

The Police reported that in the last hours through this same operation they have apprehended 172 people; 80 for trades; 69, for administrative offenses; 15, by flagrante delicto; six, for microtrafficking and two for drug trafficking.
