The Plenary of the National Assembly approved in third debate the bill 657, which establishes the Training Program in the Matter of Education in Sexuality and Affectivity.

The initiative seeks to reduce pregnancies in minors, as well as sexually transmitted diseases through courses, workshops, seminars and others in the country’s schools.

The regulation, presented by the independent deputy Gabriel Silva, is aimed at an apprenticeship of no less than 40 hours and the training will cover teachers, to ensure the quality of the teaching that will be taught in the classroom.

During her discussion in the second debate, the vice president of the National Assembly, deputy Kayra Harding, said that the initiative comes to pay off a historical debt in terms of early sexual education.
