Commission of Deputies analyzed a bill that seeks the free provision of elements for the menstrual management of girls, adolescents and women who are in their period.
The project implies that the materials are provided in the fields of education, public administration, public health, detention and day and/or night accommodation networks for homeless people.
The dealing Commission was that of Equity and Gender, headed by Senator Carlos Filizzola, and the bill is under the name “Free provision of elements for menstrual management”.
The Commission’s technicians reported on the reports received from the Ministries of Health, Finance, Women and Justice. Likewise, during the meeting, the modifications suggested by the technical team of the Commission and the difficulties of their implementation were discussed because they do not have a source of financing. Therefore, it was decided to postpone its opinion for a better study.
This initiative was presented by the deputies Rocío Abed, Esmérita Sánchez and Roya Torres. The other items on the agenda were postponed. The virtual meeting of the date was attended by senators Hermelinda Alvarenga and Lilian Samaniego.
