Inflation moderated in Colombia where, in the month of May 2022, the IPC registered a variation of 9.07% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane), Juan Daniel Oviedo.

According to Oviedo, the largest contributions to annual inflation of 9.07% were recorded in the sectors: Food and non-alcoholic beverages; lodging, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; restaurants and hotels; and Transportation; which together contributed 7.81 percentage points.
Within the sectors that contributed the most, the subclasses stand out: meals in self-service and table-service establishments (15.41%), beef and derivatives (26.70%), electricity (17.31%), rental (2.94%), milk (35.90%), and new or used private vehicles ( 13.22%), as those that contributed the most to the annual variation.
