The Association of Chiquitana Women Leaders of San Ignacio de Velasco organizes the second version of the Ometsánama Productive Craft Fair, a multisectoral event which will be held on July 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the main square of that municipality, and which is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office and the Governor’s Office.
There will be a diversity of products made by Chiquitana hands, some with recyclable materials, coming from artisans, the productive sector, gastronomy, cosmetics, furniture, etc.
“We are with the adrenaline of the fair, there is a lot of expectation, we have endless exhibitors, the Minga Association, Fasiv, honey producers and the communities that will come, there are artisans from various points, baked goods, pots, ceramic fountains, asaí and its derivatives, etc.,” explained Marina Salazar, president of the Association of Chiquitana Women Leaders.
Likewise, he encouraged the inhabitants of various parts of the department to visit San Ignacio and delight the family with its gastronomic offer, entertainment with inflatables for children, artistic numbers, sports, zumba and live show with the musical group Som Pessoa.
Another scheduled activity is the presence of an artisan who live and with the loom installed in the squarewill show how the different typical fabrics of the region are made.
Additionally, the women leaders will include in the fair the result of the occupational vacation courses in macramé, costume jewelery and embroidery and weaving in slippers.

Salazar also reported that this Saturday, July 15, at 4:00 p.m., there will be an activity prior to the Ometsánama fair. It will be in the Municipal Hall, and then outside in the Plaza 31 de Julio.
“Its about exchange of exhibitors and quality training at fairs. Everyone will learn the best ways to decorate the stand and reach customers, as well as a business conference, to sow alliances,” explained Marina Salazar.
The fair is part of the festive agenda for the 275 years of the foundation of the Jesuit mission of San Ignacio de Loyola, today San Ignacio de Velasco.
The commemorative activities take place from July 1 and will culminate on July 31. This July 30 will take place the serenade and coronation of the queen and salute to the dawn with peals of bells and typical instruments.
On the 31st, the collection of Bishop Robert Flock and his clergy from the episcopal palace, mass procession and song of praise is contemplated. He too sermon in bésiro (chiquitana) language, by the chapel master Juan Pablo Aguilera, and the delivery of chicha to the posokas (visitors) in the indigenous town hall. In the parish, the Surquite sermon to the patron saint San Ignacio de Loyola will be held in Bésiro, followed by the rites of lancers and bannermen in the indigenous town hall.
