A woman was found dead and with signs of violence inside an ATM in the city of El Alto. So far this year there are already 12 femicides in the national territory.

The director of the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv), Mario Medina, reported that on Monday, January 21, a case of femicide was registered in El Alto. He assured that the victim died of “mechanical suffocation due to manual strangulation.”

According to Medina, the body was found in the El Alto Police Square. “The Felcv staff went to the scene and inside an ATM the female corpse was verified,” she said and indicated that it was verified that the victim was 30 years old.

After collecting the body, the Felcv reviewed the cameras in the area and identified the people who were with the victim before his death. “They’re all heavy drinkers,” she added.

He explained that the videos showed that the victim was sexually abused by two people: José Daniel G. and Víctor JQM “Both were recognized by the clothes they wore,” he said.

It was evident that Victor was wearing a jacket with blood stains. “It’s probably from the victim,” he added.

The aggressors were presented yesterday to the media.

“We did the investigations. None of them have a criminal record,” Medina said.

With this case, Bolivia adds 12 femicides during the first 37 days of the year 2022.

In the city of Santa Cruz, the death of 23-year-old broadcaster Diana Pórcel is also being investigated. The young woman was found dead in a room where she lived with her partner.
