The State Defense Council (CDE) filed a complaint against the non-commissioned officer (r) Juan Osorio Jofre (70), and against those who are responsible, for the theft of 82 weapons from the Institute of Investigations and Control (IDIC) of the Army. The crime occurred on Monday.
Osorio, who worked as a guard assistant at the IDIC, was sued for the crimes of robbery with force in things in an uninhabited place, and arms trafficking, illicit offenses provided for and punished in articles 442 of the Penal Code, and 10 of Law 17,798, on Arms Control.

The accused was formalized on Tuesday, under the same crimes, remaining with the precautionary measure of preventive detention.
According to the facts, in the early hours of March 21, and in order to obtain the firearms, the defendant proceeded to break two access doors of the Test Bank building and also enter the office of the chief of the IDIC, appropriating the keys of a safe, from where he removed the armament consisting of 82 weapons, in addition to the sum of 300 thousand pesos in cash.
After the event, the accused kept what was stolen in a bag to deliver part of what was indicated to two drivers who were at the scene, thus distributing the weapons.
In the facts individualized by the action presented by the Council, it is stated that the defendant, acting as a public official and abusing said function, committed the illicit acts imputed to him.
