The vWinter Acunathon begins this Saturday, May 28, in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, a measure promoted by the departmental and local health authorities. The first brigade will be installed from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Plaza San Antonio, at kilometer 6 of the Doble Vía a la Guardia. will be administered vaccines against covid and 24 other diseasesincluding influenza.
Fernando Pacheco, Secretary of Human Development of the Governor’s Office, extended the invitation to participate this weekend in the campaign jointly developed by the departmental government with the Santa Cruz Mayor’s Office.
In addition to the fixed vaccination points, these brigades will be deployed in 15 districts of the Santa Cruz capital, as confirmed a few days ago by the mayor, Jhonny Fernández.
“He will be immunized against covid throughout the entire scheme, from the first to the fourth dose for whom it corresponds, as well as against influenza to protect in this cold season that is coming. In addition to 13 other vaccines included in the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) regular for children under 5 years of age and girls 10 to 11 years of age, regarding the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and pregnant women; all this package in general prevents more than 24 diseases available to the entire population of free wayPacheco stressed.
The objective is to increase the rate of the immunized population, mainly against covid-19, to avoid greater consequences in this latest escalation of positive cases. Departmental health authorities insist on vaccinating minors against the virus, since this age group exceeds 20% of positive caseswhich are recorded in this fifth wave.
According to the report published last night, the Santa Cruz capital registered 179 of the 180 new cases detected yesterday. With these, the accumulated number of infected in those five months of the year reached 105,518.
As for the vaccinated 58% of the target population already received the pfirst dose (3,068,252) and 46% the second. While 16% were vaccinated with the single dose and 13% received the first booster (third dose).
Tomorrow, Sunday, this same activity will move to the cabins of the Piraí river, at the same time and with the same vaccinations. “Let’s put our shoulders to vaccination, because managing we will be able to have the coverage that we all want”, stated Pacheco.
