The WhatsApp messaging service suffered a global failure that left millions of users unable to send or receive messages for a few hours, reported Meta, the platform’s parent company, and the specialized portal DownDetector.com.
“User reports indicate that WhatsApp registers problems since 09:17”, 4:17 Argentine time, said DownDetector.com, which collected thousands of notices from Internet users, who after 6 began to notify that the service was online again, it stated the AFP news agency.
Shortly after, the parent company of WhatsApp, Meta (also owner of Facebook), had confirmed the failure and indicated that it was working to restore the service “as soon as possible”.
According to testimonials published on social networks, users could not send messages or connect to the service.
Last year, Meta suffered a gigantic failure, of an unprecedented scope.
