Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner assured this Thursday that “the Argentina LNG project will modify the energy matrix” of the country, after meeting with directors of the YPF and Petronas companies, who announced an alliance to build a liquefied natural gas plant.
“I have just met with directors of YPF and Petronas, the Malaysian state oil company, who today announced an alliance to build an LNG plant in Argentina. They have been working together since 2014 on the development of Vaca Muerta. Yes, the field that we recovered in 2012,” he stated on his Twitter account.
It is the most important infrastructure project in recent decades. It will have an investment of 10,000 million dollars, in the first stage, which will allow us to produce up to 5 million tons of LNG per year and become exporters.
