The use of public services grew 6.2% year-on-year

The consumption of public services increased 6.2% during March in relation to the same month last year and 1.1% compared to February, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) reported on Monday.

During the third month of the year, and compared to the same period in 2021, the demand for electricity, gas and water registered a drop of 1.9%; while waste collection had a rise of 4.8%.

For its part, the use of passenger and cargo transport increased 71.4% and 9.8%, respectively; and passing vehicles paid for tolls grew by 16.1%.

Likewise, the use of the postal service increased 0.1%; while telephony registered an increase of 3.4% year-on-year.

In March compared to February, it was observed that the demand for electricity, gas and water marked an advance of 1.7%; and waste collection increased 1.3%.

The use of passenger transport rose 3.2%, while cargo transport contracted 1.2%.

Finally, the mail service registered an increase of 15.7% compared to February and the telephony had a slight decrease of 0.1% in the same period.
