The use of cards in restaurants, auto parts and motorcycles grew more than 50% year-on-year

In different items, national consumption continues to grow.

Card transactions grew more than 50% year-on-year in restaurants, auto parts and motorcycles and 43% in travel, tourism and airlines, according to a report by Prisma, which measures consumption with electronic and digital means of payment, for the third quarter of 2022.

“Regarding consumption with cards in the different categories, restaurants, auto parts and motorcycles stood out, exceeding 50% year-on-year growth in transactions followed by the category travel, tourism and airlines with 43%“, said the head of Institutional Relations of Prisma Means of Payment, Julián Ballarino.

The report indicated that operations with cards in restaurants grew 50.81% in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period last year and 21.67% compared to the previous quarter, and transactions in auto parts and motorcycles increased 50.27 % year-on-year and 23.11% compared to the previous quarter.

Also in tickets and tourism, credit and debit cards are imposed

In the case of travel, tourism and airlinesthe use of cards grew 43.51% year-on-year, in education and health 39.24%, in pharmacies 35.76%, supermarkets 32.68%, clothing 27.56%, service stations 18.91% and in the payment of professionals and services rose 11.34%.

There was also year-on-year growth in transactions with debit card growth of 16%, while credit card use grew by 8%.

“In the comparison of the volume operated with a credit card, the participation of purchases in a payment grows, both in interannual terms and against the previous quarter”, commented Ballarino.

In the analyzed quarter, 58.08% of purchases were made in one paymentabove the 56.44% of the previous one, 22.16% were made with plans Now 12, with a drop compared to 25.09% of the previous period and 19.75% were purchases with other installment plans, compared to 18 .47% in the previous quarter.
