He roared over the end. The Strongest obtained an agonizing victory over Nacional Potosí, on the first date of the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division. The team led by Ismael Rescalvo had to work harder than necessary to get the three points at the Hernando Siles. Martín Prost put the visitors ahead, but Daniel Rojas and Bruno Miranda came back for the local team.
In a first half without many emotions, The Strongest and Nacional Potosí did not hurt each other. The local team did not find the right way to approach its rival’s goal, while Nacional handled the ball as it pleased, but did not deserve to get ahead on the scoreboard either.
With Leonel López, Jeyson Chura and Bryan Angulo, as the main offensive weapons, the Tigre failed to exchange clear passes from midfield to forward. Meanwhile, the guitar ranch opted for long-distance shots, however they all went wide.
It seemed that both teams would go to half-time empty-handed, but Martín Prost appeared to make it 1-0 for the visit, after a short rebound provided by Guillermo Viscarra.
The Tiger’s reaction was immediate. In the last play of the first half, Fabricio Quaglio overtook the left and sent a precise cross that found the foot of Daniel Rojas. The former Oriente Petrolero defined correctly to score 1-1.
In the second half the dynamic of the game changed. Both Tigre and Nacional were more proactive and advanced lines. The local team tried to do damage on the wings, while the visitor appealed to passes and depth.
Just when regulation time was up, the goal fell in favor of The Strongest. At 90′, Bruno Miranda hit a right-footed shot from outside the area that overcame Mustafá’s resistance. It was the final 2-1 that sealed the victory for Ismael Rescalvo’s team.
