Golf courses, restaurants, fishing tournaments, dolphinariums, and tobacco and rum tastings, and more luxury hotels make up the ambitious tourism agenda of the Cubasol group for 2030.
Cubasol, the state conglomerate that supervises companies such as Caracol, Transtur, CubaGolf and Palmares, announced that this plan has “a priority character”, which implies the “search for the necessary resources for its execution, including the possibility of accessing capital foreigner”.
Alex Mulet, vice president of Cubasol, explained to Prensa Latina that the agenda defines 150 projects that must be completed on time, including “recreational adventure parks and the expansion of nautical activities.” It is expected that 40 of the projects will be executed before 2026, in support of the tourist services offered by the Island.

The group, to which the Marlin nautical events company and the Turarte entertainment agency are also attached, assured that the plan is already advancing in Cayo Coco, Ciego de Ávila, and that it is about to be implemented in other central provinces such as Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos, in addition to the tourist poles of Holguín and, of course, Varadero. Cubasol plans to invest large sums in the construction of water parks, dolphinariums and ecotourism routes by boat, cable skiing and diving.
As for golf, a sport that the hotel bureaucracy tried to eliminate in Cuba, it promises a resurgence with new courses that will be prepared in Havana, Matanzas, Artemisa and Pinar del Río, through an alliance between CubaGolf and local companies.
This sports company will even provide facilities to carry out other tourist and real estate activities, including “property trading for foreigners,” according to the director of CubaGolf, Rubén Forés.
This year, the state entity will organize the Great CubaGolf Tournament, from October 26 to 29, with the participation of professional and amateur players over 18 years of age, who will compete for three prizes.

The tournament, founded by the American writer Ernest Hemingway and maintained at all costs by Fidel Castro, attracted boats from France, the United States, Chile, Spain, Mexico, Bulgaria and Cuba to the northern Cuban coast.
During July, Cubasol will hold a diving and underwater photography meeting, while in October, under the auspices of Caracol, “specialists, sales agents and retailers” will be invited to the events El Ron de Cuba and Varadero Gastronómico. Caracol will conclude the year with the XXIII Encuentro Amigos del Partagás, a special edition cigar tasting.
“Cubasol has decided to develop an intense summer, because that is what our country asks for,” Rachel Álvarez Pérez, spokeswoman for the conglomerate, told Cubavisión Internacional.
