It was the third time that both teams met in less than a month, always with victory for the Caribbean: today’s match of the Final Six, the preliminary of the tournament and the Pan American Cup held last month in Hermosillo (Mexico), which for second consecutive year he won the Dominican Republic team against Colombia.
The Americans won the silver medal, while the players from Puerto Rico won the bronze, after beating the Cuban team 3-0 (25-16, 25-18 and 25-18) in the match for third place. ).

The Queens of the Caribbean won most of the international awards given tonight, including the most valuable player of the tournament, the MVP, which went to Gaila González, who also won the award for best service and best opposite.
The best attacker was the Dominican Brayelin Martínez (she was also named the best scorer) and the second best attacker was her partner Yonkaira Peña, also awarded for the best reception.
The award for best blocker went to Puerto Rican Neira Ortiz (second best blocker to Dominican Cándida Arias) and the award for best defense went to Puerto Rican Shara Venegas, who also emerged as the best libero.
