After a video that has circulated on social networks about alleged mistreatment of an older adult, units of the National Police in conjunction with the Public Ministry, went this Tuesday morning to a building located in the Vía España area, guaranteeing the safety of the citizen
The Specialized Family Section of the Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation into this alleged act.
According to preliminary reports, the older adult had been the victim of abuse by a relative (the one who appears in the video) who had taken care of her for about 40 years.
The Family Prosecutor, a social worker and a psychologist attended the scene.
According to reports from the Public Ministry, until last month, some 209 complaints of mistreatment of the elderly were registered.
