The Prosecutor’s Office is concerned about the amount of “strong” drugs sold without authorization

Several raids carried out yesterday in Asunción allowed the discovery of dangerous narcotics, irregularly marketed without requiring a prescription. The free availability of drugs is of concern.

A total of 51 boxes of Tramadol containing 20 ampoules, and 5 units, as well as 17 boxes of Fentanyl with 40 units, plus 4 units totaling 684 and 400 1ml ampoules of Morphine.

Indications of drug sales without prescriptions were detected, despite the fact that they are products that require the presentation of a medical prescription for marketing. They arrested two people.

False documentation was also found to justify the sale of these substances. The invoices were delivered to the Senad’s Registration and Supervision Directorate.

“We are very concerned about the whole issue of Fentanyl, you know that Fentanyl is an opioid, a very strong chemical product,” said prosecutor Fabiola Molas.

The law reaches not only the business itself, but also the employee who makes the sale without due control, that is, without the prescription in quadruplicate or the requirements that circumscribe the medical professional and the patient.
