The Central Electoral Board (JCE), continues with its program of creation, opening and installation of the Offices from civil registrationwith the aim of providing the population with an improvement of the trades that are offered in it.

According to the reports of the commission of the offices of Civil Status, the country already has 167 of these Offices that are part of the program that is carried out at the national level.

The creation of the program was carried out to bring the services offered in that institution closer to the population. In the reports made by the titular member of the plenary of the JCEDolores Altagracia Fernández, it is emphasized that, as part of her functions as coordinator of the commission of officespromoted before that organism the approval of a series of initiatives within which the creation and installation of new Offices of services.

The program began on September 26, 2021 with the opening of the Marcelino Vélez Hospital delegation and the inauguration of the Civil Status Office of Villa Montellano, Puerto Plata Province and in El Puñal, Santiago de los Caballeros.

The coordinator of the commission officesmade a special request to the plenary for the opening of five offices that were created through resolutions that were approved in past administrations and that had not yet materialized.

Are offices were approved in 2006 and 2010 and currently the JCE is making the adjustments of place to give it a formal opening.

The promotion of new offices seeks to provide greater comfort to citizens and an improvement in the response time, by having a greater number of Offices that provides the services and a decongestion in the processes.

Offices that have been opened

The civil status office of the municipality of Puñal, Santiago province, was approved by plenary resolution No 04/2021-Bis of March 18, 2021 and put into operation on September 1 of the same year.

With this office, the target population that is intended to benefit is 43,340, currently they have provided more than 2,272 services to citizens as presented in the reports of the electoral body.

The Civil Status Office of the municipality of Montellano, Puerto Plata province was approved on October 13, 2021 and was inaugurated on November 4 of the same year, more than 1,002 services have been provided and the scope of the population that would benefit is 19,717 .

which have not been installed

In the municipality of Baitoa, in Santiago, it was approved in the administrative session of October 27, 2021 to install an office in that province, but it has not been possible to install it because the corresponding administrative procedures are still being carried out. Some 14,954 citizens are expected to benefit.

The civil status office of the 6th constituency of Santiago, this office was approved on May 6, 2021, but it has not been installed due to administrative procedures, the scope goal that is expected to benefit is 23,841 citizens.

Others offices approved, but that have not been installed due to administrative procedures, are the Civil Status Office of the 17th constituency of the National District; from the 18th district of Santo Domingo Norte; from the 19th constituency of Santo Domingo Este.

In the same way the offices in the municipality of Peralvillo, Mote Plata province; in the municipal district of El Palmar, municipality of Neiba, Bahoruco province and in the municipality of Villa Hermosa, La Romana province.
