President Andrés Manuel López Obrador yesterday regretted the statements of the Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Arturo Zaldívar, that preventive detention for tax fraud, smuggling and simulated billing violates human rights and affects poor people more .

Although he said he truly esteems and respects Zaldívar, he deplored his sayings and asked if the human rights of an entire people are not affected when not enough resources enter the public finances.

What is it not to promote the violation of human rights, when people are left in poverty because the State does not have sufficient resources to fulfill its social responsibility, the president asked in his morning conference held in Campeche.

Accompanied by members of the security cabinet and the governors of the aforementioned entity, Baja California and Quintana Roo, as well as the head of Government of Mexico City, the president also stated that 99 percent of tax crimes have to do with the people above.

He stressed that enough is enough that only those who have better economic position are protected. Justice has to be for everyone.

After noting that his government is going to respect the mandates of the Judicial Power, he stressed that it is very noticeable that when it wants to confront foreign companies that have dedicated themselves to prosper with the electricity trade, there are the Mexican judges protecting them, just like when you want to fight corruption.

In fact, he considered that one of the problems that increased with the neoliberal model is that the judges dedicated themselves to protecting the potentates and not the majority of the people. That has to change little by little, stressed the head of the federal Executive, insisting that the judges must safeguard the rich and the poor.

At the press conference, he added that conservatives are bothered by the public; that education and health are public and free. He highlighted, for example, that they wanted to collect fees at UNAM.
