President Alberto Fernandez received this Wednesday at the Casa Rosada Dani DayanChairman of the Executive Board of Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centerand the Israeli ambassador to Argentina, galit ronenofficial sources reported.
After the meeting, Dayan highlighted the agreements signed between Yad Vashem and Argentina during this week and highlighted “the commitment of local authorities to continue working to promote education in values and in the sustained fight against hate speech“.
For his part, Ronen, who is leaving his post after three years at the head of the embassy in Argentina, reviewed his management in the country and said: “During this time we had excellent relations with the President and his team. In fact, the first trip the President made was to Israel for the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau.”
The president of the Yad Vashem center previously signed an agreement with the General Archive of the Nation in the Hall of Original Peoples of the Government Housewith the aim of promoting joint projects to preserve the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, as well as exchanging information on documentation.
In addition, they signed a joint declaration with the Ministry of Education to be able to strengthen the teaching and memory of the Holocaust, which includes the coordination of teacher training devices and educational materials.
Yad Vashem, the World Center for the Commemoration of the Shoah, was established in 1953 by a law of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), with the mission of commemorate, document, research and educate about the Holocaust.

The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Julius Vitobello; the deputy director for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Einat Kranzand the vice ambassador, adam levene.
On behalf of Yad Vashem, the director of the Department for Ibero-America and Miami, Marcelo Goldin, and the head of the Spanish and Portuguese Speaking Educational Team of the International School for the Study of the Holocaust, Eliana Rapp Badihi, were present.
