The reform project is the result of the work groups carried out in which officials from the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), the BCRA, the CNV, the National Institute of Associations and Social Economy (Inaes) participated; the ministries of Economy; Justice, and Foreign Relations; the National Coordination for the Fight against Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Judiciary.
One of the most important reforms contemplated by the initiative is the one that converts the FIU into a decentralized body of the National Public Administration, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, with its own legal status, which will function with functional, administrative, economic autonomy and autarchy. and financial.
Another important point is that the number of operations that must be reported to the FIU is expanded, since it incorporates virtual asset service providers, individuals or legal entities that carry out custody and cash management on behalf of a third party. or liquid securities, lawyers and providers of company and trust services.
