The PAN senators forget what most worries us Mexicans

I referred yesterday, February 16, in this space to the reprehensible statement also issued yesterday, February 16, by a group of Morenoite senators who try to emulate dictators of the last century, such as Stalin, Hitler, Franco, Pinochet, Mao and Pol Pot. , who imprisoned or murdered anyone who dared to criticize them or openly or clandestinely opposed them, accusing them of being traitors to the people and the country.

Now then, those of the PAN also let us see yesterday that what they are least interested in is legislating or proposing strategies that contribute to solving the problems that the AMLO government has not known, been able to or wanted to face.

What did the PAN senators do yesterday, February 16?

Interrupt the session that was scheduled to demand that the issue of the house where José Ramón López Beltrán lived in Houston (Texas) be discussed.

The PAN’s attitude caused the senators to stop working for three long hours.

PAN members have concluded that López Beltrán is corrupt, based solely on an investigation by Mexicans Against Corruption. In doing so, they act just like the 4T government that has decided to persecute Ricardo Anaya and Jorge Luis Lavalle based on an accusation made by Emilio Lozoya. They forget that in a rule of law we are all innocent until proven otherwise.

Do the PAN senators really believe that the issue that hurts Mexicans the most is that of the Gray House? Don’t you think that there are things that matter more to people, such as: security; the increase in prices; food poverty; the educational crisis because many children and young people could no longer return to school; the thousands of orphans left by the pandemic and the war between the mafias; illnesses and deaths due to lack of medicines and access to health services; the aftermath of the long Covid pandemic and its impact on the labor market and medical services; the risks that it entails for the stability of the economy and the effects that a possible crisis at the end of the six-year term will have on our personal lives, meager salaries and many others?

With senators like those of the current Legislature, it should not surprise us that our “popular representatives” are more rejected than the municipal police. Another day I will comment on those of the PRI, PES, PT, PVEM and the independent dials.
