The causes

The official report stated that the distribution of August was different from what had been verified in previous months and showed that the rise in the total number of people with unemployment insurance is explained by the entry of employees to the modalities of reduction or suspension.

The increase in income from suspension or reduction was mainly due to the fact that a little more than 1,000 workers were incorporated into the special unemployment insurance that was approved due to the fire in Shopping Point.

It also weighed on the fact that two activities with seasonal components marked the increase in unemployment insurance, on the one hand in the citrus sector that culminated its annual harvest and, on the other, the refrigeration activity that in August he had a one-off sick leave at various plants in the country. In these two cases, the estimate is around 2,000 workers.

Lastly, added the growth of around 600 workers of the Casa de Galicia mutual insurance company recently incorporated into the subsidy and an increase in workers in the tourism sector, also estimated at 600 people.
