The number of deceased miners in El Callao increases to 12

The Secretariat of Citizen Security of the Bolívar state reported on Saturday that 12 miners died of respiratory failure, in the Talavera mine in the municipality of El Callao of that entity.

This was stated by the entity attached to the Bolívar Governorate on its Twitter account, in which it published “From the Secretariat of Citizen Security and on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and Governor Ángel Marcano, we regret the death of twelve artisanal miners, in the # MinaTalavera of the municipality #ElCallao”.

In a video inserted in the tweet, the Secretary of Citizen Security of Bolívar, Edgar Colina Reyes, explains that last Wednesday, due to heavy rainfall in the El Callao municipality, an emergency occurred at the La Talavera mine that caused the death of 12 miners due to respiratory failure.

“We are in the identification process to later take them to the hospital and deliver them to their relatives,” he said.

Colina Reyes ratified the commitment and support to the relatives and congratulated the National Risk Management System for its work in this search and rescue plan for the miners.

According to information from the Secretary of Citizen Security on Instagram, the rescue work was carried out through the Isadora mine.
