The Minister of Tourism, Matías Lammens, confirmed this Wednesday at a press conference that the Government is preparing to launch a new edition of the program Pre-Tripthanks to the success obtained.
Lammens’ announcement came after the cabinet meeting that took place today, headed by Juan Manzur, who also stressed that the program Pre-Trip will serve to boost the growth of the tourism sector.
About the new edition of Pre-Trip, the Minister of Tourism stressed that this “will be different from the previous ones” and that its launch will take place in the coming weeks in the company of the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas.
This, given that the Government seeks not only to increase the demand for tourism during every month of the year, but also to “offer development in tourism infrastructure.”
Under this line, the program will serve to “support the low season so that the regional economies have a uniform billing throughout the year,” according to Lammens.
In addition, the Government is preparing another series of strategies to boost the sector, since it is one of the sectors that drives the national economy the most, and has been reactivated the most in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
On the subject, the minister stressed that in recent months the arrival of foreigners to the country grew, as more than a million visitors have been receivedwhich in turn has generated an economic impact of 1,100 million dollars.
When will the new edition of the Pre-Trip program be launched?
The minister commented that the details of the new edition of the Program they will be announced next Friday, as part of the official launch of the winter season, at an event to be held at the Kirchner Cultural Center.
During the next holiday season, the Government will aim to improve internal and receptive tourism, for which the travel frequencies of several airlines, including Latam, were increased.
