The Mexican Commission on Human Rights (CMDH) today accused the World Health Organization (WHO) of having become a “political instrument”, after in some cases preventing rapid progress in the development of solutions to combat the pandemic by the COVID-19.
“After millions of deaths, destroying the world economy and serving to limit the freedoms of billions of people in the world, today we find ourselves in a scenario that allows us to analyze what happened, in which context we observe unexplained situations, devoid of any benefit and absurd for others, “said the president of the CMDH and former Mexican attorney René Bolio Halloran.
Bolio Halloran stressed that one of the “bad decisions of the WHO” was not letting Taiwan enter said body, “with which this nation was not affected,” said the former senator, but great advances, investigations and results were lost. that Taipei has obtained since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, Taiwan continues to invest in technological development and has advances that Bolio Halloran describes as “spectacular”, such as a drug that prevents the spread of the virus and can stop the pandemic.
Likewise, he said, the Asian nation also has an “efficient vaccine” that has been accepted and used successfully in a dozen countries, but which, however, has not been widely used due to the refusal of the WHO.
“The Taiwanese government wanted to collaborate in the pandemic, having much to contribute from its successful experiences, however, communist China vetoed its entry into the WHO and prevented this knowledge from being shared and disseminated. The veto had no arguments, since there are none. They preferred that mortality be expanded rather than accept the participation of those who were able to tame the pandemic from its beginning, ”he added.
For the activist, all the information collected and analyzed by Taiwan during the pandemic has been made available to the WHO. However, they have refused to include it in the analyzes made of other countries, in an absurd way.
He stressed that Taiwan has advanced at an accelerated pace since it heard about the virus, despite the fact that communist China tried to hide it, thus wasting valuable opportunities to preserve the health and lives of millions of people.
Finally, he said that “the democratic governments of the world must put the interests of their citizens above the threats of the Chinese dictatorship and once and for all accept Taiwan as part of the international community, especially in the organizations responsible for human health.” .
