In the first half of the year, 448,560 new positions have been created before the IMSS. The figure is 11.6% higher than that of the same period in 2021. In total, there are 21.07 million Mexicans with social security, 86.9% are permanent positions and 13.1% temporary.
The average salary that a Mexican receives is 480 pesos a day and the sectors that reported the highest job creation in June were transportation and communications, with growth of 12.6%; construction with an increase of 5.5% and commerce with growth of 5.3%.
The transformation industry had a job creation of 5.1%, the extraction industry grew 3.7% and the electricity industry 3%.
The agricultural sector was the one that reported a slight drop in hiring with 0.3%.
By state entity: Tabasco, Baja California Sur and Quintana Roo were the ones that presented the highest growth while Michoacán, Sinaloa and San Luis Potosí are the entities with the lowest growth rate.
In its latest quarterly report, Banco de México (Banxico) estimated that in 2022 between 560,000 and 760,000 new jobs will be created before the Institute.
