Four days have passed since the categorical victory of the Rejection over the Approval in the constitutional plebiscite of exit last Sunday.
During the campaign period, a group of parliamentarians from the Christian Democracy, including senators Matías Walker and Ximena Rincón, were singled out as “wayward” for having a different position from that of the party. They were about to reject the proposal for a new Constitution.
They were joined by former president Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, who also, in the opposite position of the Christian Democracy, was going for the Rejection.
In that sense, Senator Matías Walker shared a photo sharing with the “unruly” DC; among them, Senator Ximena Rincón; former president Frei; the former conventional Fuad Chahin; the head of the bench of DC deputies, Eric Aedo, among others.
Walker indicated that “we met with President Frei, to thank him for his clarity and determination in the face of the bad proposal of the convention. We also received his vision of the economic and security crisis that Chile is facing, in addition to the unity table that the DC”.
