Ciro Gomes proposes to revoke spending ceiling to change education

Electoral Justice receives 28 thousand registrations of candidacy for the elections

The candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by the PDT, Ciro Gomes, once again defended the repeal of the spending ceiling, in force since 2016 and which prevents the state from expanding investments in health, education and security. In live publicized on his social networks this evening (8), Ciro criticized the way young people are taught to this day. What he called “decoreba” no longer dialogues with today’s society, immersed in a more digital reality.Ciro Gomes proposes to revoke spending ceiling to change education

“Decoreba is pure garbage, because they are having access to a level of information that we have no idea. Today the boy enters a smartphoneon one tablet and has the information he wants”. For Ciro, teachers have to undergo new training to change the way they teach.

“What we need is to prepare the professional for the digital world, which is much more teaching the kid to ask than to answer. Associate information that already exists and create new information. This is what prepares the new professional. This requires a retrained, re-skilled teacher.” To equip teachers and have this new training, the candidate defends the end of the spending ceiling.

“Changing funding means revoking the spending cap and making a bet that we are going to standardize,” he said. “The federal government will continue to respect the state and the municipality, but we will set the standard. We will oversee and evaluate and bail out the network that is most deficient with the most money,” she added.

Education as a priority

This morning, Ciro campaigned in São José do Rio Preto (SP) and also spoke about education. He used his social media to reinforce his promise that, if elected, he will prioritize improving public education. “World Literacy Day reinforces our great flag: education is a priority. This is where we have to make the great revolution that Brazil needs and deserves”, wrote the candidate on Twitter, citing the date created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) and celebrated worldwide today.

Cyrus also commented on Death of the UK’s monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. “With the death of Queen Elizabeth II, a cycle of the British monarchy is closed and the doors of history are opened for a woman who was a symbol of resilience, personal sacrifice and devotion to the cause of a nation. May she, deservedly, rest in peace.”
