The community chief held a meeting in the morning with representatives of the MGAP and the different rural unions in Florida, in which the general secretary, Martín Varela, also participated; the Director General of Administration, Álvaro Riva; and the director of Sustainable Development, Enzo Viscailuz.
Package of measures adopted to address the agricultural emergency in the department:
Measures that are carried out
– Water drilling with IDF support of 25% to 50% of the work for rural populations, small and medium-sized family producers, plus three-year financing from Microfinance Republic.
– Cleaning of cutwaters and/or rations by agreement with the MGAP for producers registered in the register of Family Producers with up to $15,000 in machine-hours, with a 25% refund.
– Supply of water for human consumption at no cost to producer families through the Departmental Emergency Coordination Center (CECOED) of Florida.
Measures to implement
– Cleaning of cutwaters or water supply for family producers of less than 300 hectares with daily municipal taxes. Producers are supported with up to $10,000 in non-reimbursable machine hours per producer.
– Climate Emergency Fund created by the IDF and financed by the Interior Development Fund (FDI-OPP) for other water solutions, purchase of rations, bales, tanks, pumps or inputs and tools, reimbursable for family producers.
– Extension of the due date of the first installment of rural real estate contribution in the department of Florida for Thursday, April 20, 2023.
– Creation of a revolving fund for dairy rearing for up to 1,000 calves, by agreement of the Florida Society of Milk Producers.
– Study for the creation of a revolving fund for calf hospitality for small and medium-sized livestock producers, subject to demand.
