The INE finds 25% of false support for the revocation in a sample of 645

The generation of the sample of the statistical exercise considered both the signatures received through the mobile application and those of physical formats to verify the fidelity of the data presented.

Miranda Jaimes explained at a press conference that, of the original universe of 850 citizens randomly visited in the 32 states of the Republic, 645 were found at home and the remaining 205 could not be located.

Of the 645, “161 citizens reported that they did not give their signature of support,” noted the official from the Federal Electoral Institute (INE).

The sample was taken from the 2 million 845,634 support signatures that had already been validated by the INE.

“The paper process does not give much certainty. The mobile application has many locks (…) that is a great advantage as they do not have it on paper, on paper a signature could be simulated and, it seems that these cases are presented in this exercise, ”he said.

This Friday, January 28, the consultation module will close on its website where citizens will be able to check if the registration of their signature of support for the completion of this process was carried out properly.
