The councils will focus the debate on the Pedro Rivero Mercado Chair scheduled for this Wednesday, March 22. The space for academic and journalistic reflection, organized by the Franz Tamayo University (Unifranz), will question the importance of these councils and their meaning in the new generations.
The question will motivate a exchange of ideas with a flavor of history, identity and philosophy. Two Unifranz academics will participate: Carlos Dadoub Arrien, former president of the Pro Santa Cruz Committee and current vice-rector of the university, and Gilberto Rueda, Researcher and teacher of the Journalism career.
The initiative arises from the Journalism career. The aforementioned chair promotes debate and reflection on important aspects of political and news news. It emerged in September 2022 with a first panel on the relevance of journalism in society. Subsequently, he covered other current issues with the participation of relevant institutions and authorities in the region.
The Santa Cruz councils have marked important milestones in the history of Santa Cruz and Bolivia. So far in the 21st century, the struggle for autonomy, the forest fires in Chiquitania and the Population and Housing Census have massively mobilized the population at the feet of Christ the Redeemer.
“This It is the first activity of the Chair in 2023, open to students and teachers of Unifranz and to the general public. We continue working with the perspective of guaranteeing academic management and, at the same time, generating analysis, debate and reflection to build a society according to the challenges of the present”, said Pedro Rivero JordánDirector of the Journalism program.
The conversation will take place this Wednesday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the central auditorium of Unifranz, at Av. Busch and Segundo Anillo. The event will be open to the general public.
