Since the beginning of this week, the NMS (National Metereological Service) warned that, during these days, there would be a rise in temperatures, which will prevail until the long weekend.
And while the heat won’t subside, the organism issued an alert for rains and storms in several areas of the country, in this sense, the NMS declared a yellow alert for six provinces in the north.
Likewise, the alert applies to five provinces in the center and south, where winds of between 35 and 70 kilometers per hour are expected, with gusts that can exceed 100 kilometers per hour in some locations, as explained by the NMS.
The provinces affected by the storms are Catamarca, Salta, Jujuy and Tucumán, while, in Santa Cruz, abundant rains are forecast and in Chubut rains and winds. For their part, the provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Neuquén and Río Negro are under a yellow alert for winds.
As detailed by the agency, “in the west of the province of Catamarca, storms of varying intensity are expected, some of which may be strong and may be accompanied by intense gusts of wind, occasional hail, significant electrical activity and abundant fall of water in short periods of time.
The same warning extends “to the north of the country, in the west of Salta, northwest of Tucumán and a large part of Jujuy, where accumulated rainfall between 20 and 40 millimeters is expected from noon this Thursday until night.”
In the south, on the other hand, “persistent rains of varying intensity are expected, with accumulated precipitation between 10 and 30 millimeters, in the north, east, and south of the province of Santa Cruz.” The rain alert is also in effect in western Chubut.
How will the temperatures be in the summer?
Since the entity explained that, during the summer season that is about to begin, Above normal temperatures are expected in the center of Argentina and, in particular, Buenos Aires and La Pampa; as well as in the south of the Litoral, Córdoba, Cuyo and western Patagonia.
In this sense, temperatures of more than 30°C are expected with maximums of 36°C for some areas, while, in others, the heat will predominate even more and will rise above 40°C, so it is recommended to take precautions and be attentive to the official announcements of the organization.
