The authority assured that they will respect the property rightHowever, in the case of the Kim Tourist Center, he pointed out that It is striking that the Santa Cruz Governorate has granted an environmental license in an area that is a water reserve for Santa Cruz.

“It would be a private property of the Kim family, in this place some aquifers would be located and if they would have an environmental license?how is it that a site with aquifers would be licensed? That would be a technical issue that should be investigated,” Herrera said at a press conference on the afternoon of Thursday, December 8.

The vice minister reiterated that in a private property the jurisdiction is in the department of Santa Cruz where the departmental entity (Government) is in charge of granting the environmental license. Previously, from the administration of Luis Fernando Camacho they indicated that the environmental license given to the Kim family was granted by the management of Rubén Costas.

Magin Herrera ordered the owners of the land in dispute to go to the Bolivian Police and the Public Ministry to request the protection of their rightand that in this sense the aforementioned authorities would have to act.

“As a government we are pointing out that encroachments are illegal acts, we will act with the greatest drasticity and the owner who feels affected has the absolute obligation and power to make complaints and the State will support him,” he asserted.
