After knowing the inflation figure for March (6.7%), the Government announced that it would prepare new measures to contain the escalation of prices, especially in food.
In this way, the executive power will announce this afternoon different strategies that have been thought up by the Government to improve the finances of Argentines.
The announcement of Government it would be done by President Alberto Fernández himself and the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmánwho will travel to Washington this Monday to participate in the assembly organized by the IMF and the World Bank.
What the Executive is looking for is to add income to citizens, especially informal workers and monotributistas of the lowest categories, since they do not receive salary readjustments.
Therefore, the Government prepares an Emergency Family Income (IFE), like the one that was granted with the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic to the most vulnerable sectors.
This IFE would be financed by a contribution made by the sectors that received extraordinary profits during the first quarter of the year as a result of the increase in international prices due to the war.
What other strategies is the Government designing to regularize prices?
One of the biggest challenges for the executive this year it will be to contain the rise in prices, which in the last month has been affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
To do this, in addition to the IFE, which would be aimed at informal workers and monotributistas, the Government designs and analyzes other measures, especially to control increases in food.
Between them, expanded its Care Prices program, it is also analyzing the creation of new trusts for some sectors and in addition the paritarias were accelerated to readjust the salaries.
All this with the objective that in April inflation is reduced and has a minimum floor of 5.5%, since that reported in March was the highest in the last 20 years.
