Last Friday, after the meeting between the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, and the Liaison Table, the Government confirmed a new meeting with the technical teams of the agricultural entities.
The meeting between the executive power and the Liaison Table will take place this Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., as confirmed through his Twitter account, the Secretary of Agriculture, Juan José Bahillo, who explained that the objective of the meeting will be: “to resolve issues of the defined route on Friday” with the Government.
In this sense, the main rural entities of the country will discuss with the Government a new mechanism for the liquidation of the retained harvest; this, in order to generate a higher income of foreign currency to the Central Bank.
“During the week, we are going to work better on the settlement scheme to make it more agile, accessible and quick for the producer”explained Bahillo, who also pointed out that other priorities for the sector will be discussed.
Among them, a greater opening in the meat market for exports; what’s more, the executive power will present a new short-term proposal to improve the soybean dollar.
Also, they will talk about access to dollars to be able to import fertilizers that, due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, had a strong increase, as well as increasing the production of biofuels and serving regional economies.
In addition, other priority issues for the sector will be discussed, which, as defined by the Secretary of Agriculture, is “very important, dynamic and competitive”; so it is key to strengthening the economy.
How was the first meeting?
Last Friday, Sergio Massa received the technical teams from the agricultural entities, in order to find out which issues are priorities for the sector and, based on this, define the roadmap for the implementation of public policies that benefit them.
This, with the aim of strengthening the guild and, in turn, the economy. After concluding the meeting, Bahillo described it as “very positive, frank and in good terms”, which is also expected to happen during the meeting on Tuesday, when the agenda of priorities for the sector will be advanced.
