The Government and the opposition go out to test positions

With two years remaining to complete the elections in which the executive power and the representatives of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate will be chosen for the period 2024-2028, the Government and the main opposition organization, the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), take to the streets this Sunday.

In the case of Governmentthe singing voice will be carried ministers and other high-level officials in the public administration to whom the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, entrusted the execution of the program called “Government in the provinces” which consists of them moving to those territories to listen to the needs, respond and socialize about the current management.

The initial whistle will be given with a press conference headed by the vice president, Raquel Peña; the ministers of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla; Administrative of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; of Public Works, Deligne Ascención; of Education, Roberto Fulcar and the director of the National Health Service, Mario Lama at the National Palace, activity scheduled for 10:30 am.

The mission was instructed by President Luis Abinader, who is in Switzerland where this Sunday he is scheduled to speak at the welcome of the 75th World Health Assembly, to those officials during the Council of ministers Expanded held last Wednesday at the National Palace, in which it was established that for these purposes they hold meetings with provincial and local authorities and members of civil society simultaneously starting at 9:00 in the morning.

“They are going to talk about the management, about the aspects that are working well, those that we can improve and about the plans that the Government in each of the communities”, said the President of the Republic when explaining what the project is about.

For this Sunday, a scheme has been designed in which more than 40 officials, including ministers and directors of institutions will be Santo Domingo and more than 20 provinces in the interior of the country developing these assemblies.

The development of the activities will be followed by a team at the National Palace headed by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, representing Luis Abinader, who is out of the country; the Minister of the Presidency, Lisandro Macarrulla; the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; The Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención; the Minister of Education, Roberto Fulcar, and the executive director of the National Health Service, Mario Lama.

Danilo swears in leaders

In mid-April of this year, the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) approved that the former president of the Republic and president of that organization, Danilo Medina, lead a series of swearing-in of leaders in different provinces of the country starting this Sunday.

According to the recently announced calendar, the former president will be in the province of Azua this Sunday, where he will be swearing in 12,000 new members of the PLD, as reported, in an act scheduled for 10:00 in the morning.

The exit to the streets of Danilo Medina would be supported by the request of the militancy of the PLD, which according to the general secretary of that party, Charlie Mariotti, assured when making the announcement.

Medina is also scheduled to preside over the swearing-in on June 5 in Monseñor Nouel province; on the 12th in North Santo Domingo; on the 19th in Barahona and on the 26th in Dajabón.

Likewise, he will visit the municipalities of Higüey on July 3; on the 10th he will be in San Francisco de Macorís; on the 17th in San Pedro de Macorís; on the 24th in Santo Domingo, constituency two, and on July 31 the swearing-in will culminate in San Juan, where Medina is from.

And where is Leonel?

Meanwhile, the president of the People’s Force and former president of the Republic, Leonel Fernández, is in the city of Tampa Fernández, where his agenda is contemplated with a breakfast with the business community and local authorities of the city, in the house of the coordinator of FP, Iván Grullón. Then he will go into an act of swearing in of new members, at noon, at Mamajuana Café at 9202 Anderson RD, and later will go to the ribbon cutting and inauguration of the Fuerza del Pueblo location in Tampa.

On Sunday afternoon, Fernández will travel to the city of Orlando to continue direct contacts with leaders of the People’s Force, and attend an act of swearing in of new members at 7800 Universal Boulevard, Orlando.
