Due to the high inflationary pressure that the country has suffered in recent months, the governmentthrough the Ministry of Domestic Trade, is working on the implementation of a fruit and vegetable basket.
For this reason, on behalf of ExecutiveRoberto Feletti held a meeting this Thursday with different business representatives from the Buenos Aires municipalities to advance the initiative of the government.
What he government aims to, is to implement, in the short term, a basket of fruits and vegetables throughout the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA), so that the measure is later extended to the entire national territory.
This, given that, as the Secretary of Domestic Trade pointed out, during January and February the foods that suffered the most increases were fruits and vegetables, so the initiative seeks to stabilize prices.
Below this line, the government together with the authorities of each municipality, the central office analyzes what aspects to take into account to create and design the fruit and vegetable basket.
“We want to work together with the municipalities and evaluate the most effective policies with community leaders. at the time of establishing baskets of fresh products”, indicated Feletti.
The Government prepares for a month of higher inflation
Analysts point out that March will close with inflation close to 5% or 6%, especially due to the impact that the war has left on international markets.
Facing the topic, the executive prepares a series of measures in order to contain the escalation of prices, which strongly affects the pockets of Argentines and the consumption of various products and services.
