The Public Ministry had access to several messages exchanged between the former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio, and the drug trafficker Marcus Vinicius Espindola. They were provided by the Brazilian authorities.
The Prosecutor’s Office clarified that the messages were provided by the Brazilian authorities – who carried out the arrest of the drug trafficker, Marcus Vinicius Espindola M. -, when seizing the cell phone of the aforementioned defendant in the neighboring country.

The information on the link between Marcos Vinicius and former minister Arnaldo Giuzzio was sent by the Brazilian Prosecutor’s Office last May, due to evidence of a punishable act, explained prosecutor Osmar Legal.
There is currently an open investigation by prosecutors, Alicia Sapriza, from the Specialized Unit for Organized Crime, Osmar Legal, from the Specialized Unit for Economic Crimes and Anticorruption, into the link between the former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio, and the drug trafficker Marcus Vinicius Espindola.
As part of the investigation, this Tuesday morning a search was made of the home of the former senator, former Minister of the Interior and former head of Senad, Arnaldo Giuzzio, who was already charged with aggravated passive bribery (bribery).
