The fiscal stimulus for gasoline will be maintained for the fifth consecutive week

In addition to not charging the special tax on production and services, the Treasury reported that it will also maintain the additional fiscal stimulus for importers and refiners.

Said incentive will be 1.96 pesos for magna gasoline, 1.16 pesos for Premium and 3.18 pesos in the case of diesel.

The unit in charge of public finances decides each week, depending on the behavior of the oil price, whether to increase or decrease the IEPS fees. This is done with the purpose of “that gasoline is at a fair price,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Thursday at the morning conference.

He also commented that it is a subsidy that has benefited not only Mexicans, but also Americans who live on the border and come to Mexico to buy gasoline.

The president explained that with the surplus that has been obtained due to high oil prices, it is possible to maintain the gasoline subsidy.
