The Ministry of Health confirmed the first case of the Omicron variant in Argentina.

This is a 38-year-old man who returned from South Africa for a work commitment and is currently in the province of San Luis, where he resides.

As reported by the health ministry, he had returned to the country on November 30. The infected person has the complete vaccination scheme and had already contracted coronavirus in March of this year.

The Health portfolio added that the patient has been in isolation since his arrival, as well as four close contacts, and that none have symptoms.
