In the last hours, the fire spread again in the Parana Deltawhere, this year, forest fires have been recurrent, mainly due to the uncontrolled burning of grasslands in the territory.
According to the report of the authorities, the Buenos Aires localities Ramallo, Zárate and San Nicolás have been affected by the fires of the Parana Delta; meanwhile, the smoke has managed to spread to area north of the country, especially the city of Rosario.
Likewise, the smoke produced in the Parana Delta has managed to expand to various sectors of the city and the province of Buenos Aireswhich could intensify in the coming hours.
This, because according to the National Meteorological Service (SMN), there is a yellow alert for strong winds of between 35 and 50 kilometers per hour and gusts that can exceed 70 kilometers per hour, in half the country.
As detailed by the agency, the change in the south wind was what caused the smoke and ashes to spread throughout Buenos Aires, where an “atmosphere from moderate to highly cloudy due to the presence of smoke in the southwest” can be seen.
The SMN also warned that “today the smoke will mainly affect the north and center of Salta, and east of Jujuy, but it is also expected to reach Tucumán, north of Santiago del Estero, southwest of Entre Ríos, north of Santa Fe, to Formosa and west of Chaco”.
Also “Tomorrow the wind is expected to rotate to the east sector, therefore, the smoke from the entire area of the Parana Deltapossibly return to be in the Rosario area”.
The provincial government calls for those responsible to be punished
The provincial Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Santa Fe, Erika Gonnet, indicated that those responsible for burning fields in area “They must be sanctioned”, because “the fires that we suffer affect our quality of life and our environment”.
The same request was made by the Minister of Environment of the Nation, because, despite the fact that evidence has been presented that the fires are caused, those who start the conflagrations continue without being punished. Meanwhile, different social organizations demand that the Wetlands Law be sanctioned as soon as possible.
