The head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, refused to cut an inauguration ribbon at the UACM terminal, where the tour began in one of the 26 new Trolleybus units, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Mexico, Zhu Qingqiao, as well as the mayor from Iztapalapa, Clara Brugada, and officials from the capital’s government.
Meanwhile, at the Constitución de 1917 terminal, the connection between the Metro station and the Elevated Trolleybus is still under construction and operational tests have begun with the units on sections 2 and 3.
Sheinbaum was greeted with shouts of “president, president” and “you see, you feel, Claudia is present”; the mayor of Iztapalapa, for her part, received shouts of “head of government, head of government.”
The president highlighted the investment in transportation to the north and east of the city, since in Iztapalapa this new transportation system is added to Line 2 of the Cablebús, from Santa Martha to Constitución de 1917.
