The economic facts that will mark the week

United States, Brazil, Mexico and Chile published this week the inflation figure for July in a context of a general rise in prices, while the Bank of Mexico holds a new monetary policy meeting, in which it will decide whether to alter interest rates.

(This was Petro’s first week as president of Colombia).

These are the economic keys that will mark the week in America:

MONDAY 15

Brazil publishes the IBC index of economic activity. The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) disseminates the report on the national production of Peru until June 2022.

TUESDAY 16

The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) publishes the result of Colombia’s trade balance for June. The Colombian Government discloses the result of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2022.

The United States Federal Reserve (Fed) publishes the evolution of the country’s industrial production during the month of July, at a time when supply chain problems persist and inflation is skyrocketing.

WEDNESDAY 17

The US Fed publishes the minutes of its latest monetary policy meeting.

THURSDAY 18

Brazil holds an auction to privatize the management of fifteen airports, including Congonhas (Sao Paulo), the second in number of passengers in the country.

The National Institute of Statistics of Mexico presents the unemployment rate for the second quarter of 2022. Chile publishes the GDP for the second quarter.

The Americas Society/Council of the Americas celebrates in Buenos Aires the nineteenth conference of Latin American cities, which brings together representatives of governments, legislators and other leaders from Argentina and abroad to discuss the country’s economic and political outlook and growth prospects from Latin America.

FRIDAY 19

The National Supply Company (Conab) discloses its second projection on the Brazilian sugarcane harvest corresponding to the 2022-2023 period. In Mexico June retail sales released.
