The Cuban Police identifies the murderer of the 14-year-old boy buried in Las Tunas

The Las Tunas Police identified this Tuesday Marcos Isaías Diéguez Torres as the murderer of Willis Wilder dario Leyva Acostathe 14-year-old teenager whose body was found this monday in the town of Maniabón, 12 kilometers from Puerto Padre.

In a note published by official newspaper 26 –and spread with slight variations on social networks– The Ministry of the Interior details that Diéguez Torres, arrested as a suspect this Monday in the Provincial Unit of Criminal Operations and Investigations, “confessed his authorship” during the interrogation and alleged that he had attacked the child due to “personal discrepancies”.

The report specifies that the 21-year-old inmate resides in Maniabón and had no criminal record or employment relationship. “The process will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the legal regulations,” the note added.

Darío Leyva Acosta, whom the police refer to as Willis Wilder Ávila Acosta, was “found lifeless and buried near the quarry in the town of Maniabón.”

On Monday, Diéguez was located by the Police and arrested. In his house they found the leagues of the stone thrower Leyva Acosta

The adolescent’s family pointed to the journalist Alberto Méndez Castelló, correspondent for the outlet Cubanet in Las Tunas, that since he was a child his mother began to call him Darío and that was the name he always used. However, no clarification has been offered so far on the discrepancy in surnames.

Méndez Castelló said in his report that Diéguez, a neighbor of the boy’s family, had murdered him to take his cell phone, a motive that seems implausible given the circumstances. The two of them had gone out together on Sunday morning to “hunt with slingshots.”

Diéguez buried the victim’s body in the quarry called La Ballastrera, near Maniabón, and at 3:00 p.m. he made a call from the stolen phone.

On Monday, Diéguez was located by the Police and arrested. In his house they found the leagues of the stone thrower Leyva Acosta, whose body was taken to the home of his parents, a housewife and a farmer, to identify him. They buried him at 5:00 p.m., while the Police confirmed his death, although they did not report Diéguez’s arrest.

Although the local Police boasts in its note that it achieved its “clarification in less than 24 hours”, the agents did not initially give importance to the fact

The teenager was a student at the Mártires de Maniabón junior high school. His body was found after numerous disappearance reports that circulated on networks since this Sunday. The smallness of the town reinforced the suspicion that the murderer was an acquaintance of the victim.

Although the local police boast in their note that they achieved their “clarification in less than 24 hours”, the agents did not initially attach importance to the fact.

“I told them that they had killed me and they ignored me. We went to the head of the sector and this morning they looked for the dogs,” he told the media. Cuban DNA the mother of Leyva Acosta, whose name they do not reveal.

In January of this year, 14ymedio reported the death of Yosvany Villar Avila, another 14-year-old teenager who died in similar circumstances. The body of the boy, who had been missing for a year, was located after the police reactivated the case and made “Ariel”, the main suspect in his murder, confess that he was imprisoned for other reasons.

At that time, Airovis Ávila Pérez, Yosvany’s mother, complained about the lack of importance that the Interior Ministry gave to the matter and that, when she demanded that the search be resumed, the officers replied that “there was no fuel” for the vehicles. police.
