The Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz Gómez, referred this Tuesday to the possible application of the third dose. He argued that, so far, these are intended for the population over 70 years of age.
“So far we are studying the option of opening it to people over 50. It will be a decision made in the remainder of this year, and we have also budgeted for the future the possibility of applying a reinforcement to the Colombian population, but it would be for the next year”Ruiz said.

Regarding vaccination in boys and girls, he explained that Minsalud had a meeting with scientific societies and is awaiting the consensus of experts, “Based on that, we will meet in the Vaccine Committee to make the decision”.
The announcements were made after the senior official met with the country’s Health Secretaries, where he explained that the situation of the pandemic was reviewed at the meeting, the National Vaccination Plan, as well as the agenda until the end of the Government from the sector, which includes the Ten-Year Public Health Plan and surveys, and health security.
