A tourist denounced “the exaggerated charge” for “an empanada” during her visit to Villa de Leyva, the issue went viral but on networks, they also responded that “you cannot go saying things without finding out well.”
Colombia News.
Despite the fact that Villa de Leyva is one of the most visited municipalities in the department of Boyacá, due to its magical and historical nature, these days there have been complaints about its prices, although from the area they ask people first to ask prices, compare and check well why the invoice has a certain cost, “before going out in networks to damage our tourism”, the last case is for “an empanada”.
It is no secret to anyone that some places, from hotels, restaurants and attractions are somewhat expensive.
The tourist Daniela Marín was surprised by “the exaggerated cost of food” in one of the restaurants where she decided to eat.
A lentil soup for 18,900 pesos, but the astonishment was at the charge of the empanadas each for a value of $16,500, which he considered to be an abuse.

However, as explained, the empanada (per unit) did not cost that amount.
It was a lump sum cost for two entrees, each containing six empanadas and each at $3,500. This was explained from the same restaurant indicated in Villa de Leyva.
complaints
However, this complaint was published through the Twitter social network from the account @boyaca_noticias, in which many commented, including the representative to the Boyacá chamber, Eduar Triana, and it became even more viral.
Other comments also supported and even denounced situations suffered when consuming in some restaurants in Villa de Leyva.
As in the case of @alfac56 and @diarmonroy, who expressed their opinion through Twitter in response to the published complaint.
This type of situation affects tourism, given the non-regulation of prices, cases like this or those that occurred in Cartagena, they say they worry in networks.
However, others defend that despite Villa de Leyva being such a visited place, “prices are affordable.
