The CES will review the Electric Pact next Monday

The Economic and social Council reported today that a committee of this body will meet next Monday to discuss the Electric Pactafter President Luis Abinader announced that the Government will stop raising the electricity rate until the economic circumstances in the country change.

“The Economic and social Council announces that it has arranged a meeting of its Executive Committee for next Monday, July 25 at 12 noon in the conference room of the CES,” the agency reported in a press release.

The planned agenda for the meeting contains two main points: the status of the Thematic Tables of the Dialogue for Reforms and the theme of the Electric Pactso new information will be provided.

The Electric Pact has generated discussion between the Government and the opposition since, according to opposition parties, the former has not complied with what was signed and they have expressed their disagreement with the increase in electricity rate.
