The Legislature of Buenos Aires was the victim of a cyberattack in which different “internal systems” were compromised, for which the parliamentary authorities filed a complaint with the Specialized Unit for Computer Crimes and Contraventions of the city of Buenos Aires.
“On Sunday, September 11, it was detected that part of the System of the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires had received a cyberattack. Measures were immediately taken to assess and control the damage,” they officially reported from the local Parliament in a statement.
In contrast, they pointed out that work will be done to detect “the vulnerability in the infrastructure in order to mitigate it”, in addition to “a report will be written to assess the state of the situation that covers, for example, which systems are encrypted, which servers, which users and which machines “.
At the same time, a “crisis committee” was created, made up of referents from various areas of the Legislature to outline “an action plan” to return to normal operation of the system.
Through an internal communication sent to the coordinators of the areas, it was also requested that the Legislature’s computers and the WiFi network not be used, from any device, for security reasons.
Likewise, the authorities made a judicial presentation before the Specialized Crime Unit.
